TRUE CHRISTIAN
“Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?”( 2 Corinthians 13:5)
A true Christian constantly examines whatsoever he or she does in the light of God’s word because we sometimes believe we are on track without realizing that we have deviated.
“There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death”(Proverbs 14:12).
So lets be conscious of our actions with the knowledge that we are pilgrims on earth as Hebrews 11:13-16 teaches us “All these people were still living by faith when they died.
They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth. People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own.
If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them” by making sure we are doing the right thing and focusing on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who took our place by dying on the cross to make us who we are today.
Brethren ignorance is not an excuse for God to overlook all our wrongs and mistakes in life so let us be very careful on how we live our lives as Christians.
The Lord is always faithful to His people and He has promise to add every other things to us when we seek first his kingdom, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:33).
We can only deceive and pretend before men but God knows who we are and the motive behind whatever we are doing including what we do in secret.
“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows” (Galatians 6:7). He will reward us according to our deeds .
Our Christianity should be in deeds and not only in words (James 1:22) “ Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says” we should always have it in mind that we are citizens of heaven therefore we should not be moved by the things of this world but rather live our lives with the mindset as the heir of the kingdom by making Jesus our reference point. May God help us as we run this heavenly race in Jesus name, Amen.
